I find a visual connection between Sam Hall's ceramics and David Quinn's mixed media pieces as both incorporate wonderful surface textures/markings and eye-catching color combinations. I am particularly drawn to the layered, yet minimalist aesthetic of Quinn's work as it is a direction I have been working towards in my own. He talks about working on many, many pieces at any given time so that there is a kind of "conversation" between these works-in-progress which also informs and alters his creative process. 'Sunday Papers' are an ongoing inspiration which, for me, both illuminates and challenges my own ideas about art: both the known, and those possibilities which I had never considered. Thank you for that!
