Tri-Fold

I am happy to share with you that Handbook will be exhibited at the Williamsburg Art & Historical Center in Brooklyn as part of the show Tri-Fold: New Perspectives on Book Arts. This handmade book is very special to me and I am thrilled to have this opportunity to have it on exhibit.

The opening reception will be held on Tuesday October 12 from 6-8pm. The show runs through November 27. If you live nearby, I invite you to stop by the center at anytime. For those of you far away, I will post about the opening next week.

The Williamsburg Art & Historical Center is located in Williamsburg, a Brooklyn neighborhood that in recent years has become a magnet for indie culture and the art community. The center is housed in a landmark building built in 1867 at 135 Broadway. Exhibition hours are Wednesday to Friday 1–5 pm and Saturday and Sunday Noon–6 pm

Is this a 'hands on' exhibit? If the others are anything like yours, I'd want to turn the pages myself, which is part of the excitement of opening a book. Congratulations, Seth!

Congratulations Seth on the inclusion of your handbook in the exhibition. It is such a pleasure to see it here again, I loved this book when you showed it previously and don't doubt it is a favourite for you.
Loving the side bar questions and can't wait to see the results of the voting. Bet there's some really interesting answers.

Terrific! Are people allowed to open the book and look at the inside pages or only peek at it the way it is standing there in your photo? I'd want to hold it or at least turn the pages. But it might not be safe for the book with too many hands...

Your "Handbook" is very intriguing! I know first hand how difficult it is to make something both sculptural and relevant, able to sustain the limits of gravity! You've done a great job as the photos show. I'm happy for your success! Cheers!
