Hand Made

I continue to work away on Handbook...

adding some rusty found objects...

to give it a little depth...

to tell the story of the page...

to add layers to the book...

to fill the binding...

and to spread the idea...made by hand!

Lucky me! I take a break this afternoon and see that you have posted and wowowser, I get to see that beautiful book. I love the image behind the rusty ring. Love the layers and texture and wish I could run my hand over the pages. :)Bea

Now I regret having tossed away part of a rusty license plate, as I do love rust for its colour and texture but felt it was too fragile.

Seeing these objects connected and given another life is wonderful and I cannot wait to peak inside the pages.

As always Seth, your work inspires and stimulates the mind and the senses.

Have a wonderful day.

YES!!! 'In' without knocking! The vertical hand appears to be a door knocker, Seth. Just the way it seems to me. Beautiful. One of these days I'll get a chance to see one of your books in person, but your photos do it some justice, regardless.

I love these hands. But Svea would prefer the rusty things.
I've made a rusty Mary today, as a digital collage.

Oh Seth this is just a luscious treat for the spirit...well done especially with the rusty circles of faith inviting the viewer to come closer and inspect the visible gifts. Egmont should never have had thrown that rusty license plate ...it sounds wonderful! You are having a great journey with this Handbook excursion. You delight me with your insightful use of materials that often have a story in themselves...Bravo! Imagine and Live in Peace, Mary Helen Fernandez Stewart

What a treasure book to cherish. The ornaments, rich colors and layers are all like a beautifully wrapped gift. Love the way your book is unfolding. The artistic process of watching it being created is like a story being read to us. One page at a time- slowly revealing what's to come next- keeping us mezmerized.!

Gorgeous rusty effects here Seth, the book is coming along wonderfully, but truthfully I expected nothing less! Love that face under the washer? Now have you rusted paper here or done something else because the effect is great! Love the appearances of the little hands throughout too.

So much texture and depth. Your book strikes me almost as sculpture -- a multi-dimensional exploration. Beautiful! -- JeriAnn

This book is really progressing nicely. The rusty circle is a perfect addition to the hand.

The thickness of this book amazes me. It lays so flat, even though it is thick. That really blows me away!

Great job, Seth. Would love to turn those pages one day. The photos are great but doing the actual page turning yourself is glorious.

The beautiful simplicity of your compositions is mind boggling. You do it so well.
