There is something about snow and black and white photos. I really enjoy aerial shots in any color and this black and white one is great. Perfect winter photo.
I have truely been enjoying everyones snow photos on their blogs the past few days! Today I could open doors front and back in our home and let the fresh air and sunshine in. It was spring like here. I am not rubbing it in...just sharing my truth! ;-)
Seth, i love NY. i lived in the city a few years ago,(upper west side). i loved the energy of the city and change of the seasons (to a point....) the first snow took my breath away, but then so did the first signs of spring, and the colors of fall.
these photos bring back memories.
you guys have been having quite a winter. stay warm!
A black and white frame of mind .... and I should imagine you are working like a trojan too with all that you have on your plate at the moment. I hope The Book is flowing smoothly, Seth
A native of Colorado, I haven't experienced snow for 10 years since moving to the desert southwest. Believe it or not, I get this same kind of frame of mind from too much sunshine. Just remember, with snow comes the seasons and clouds and colors and diversity of plants and animals and green. Oh, how I miss green. And the quiet blanket of snow. And the way the cold awakens your senses. The shivering--not so much.
Nice b&w's. Funny how your snow in NY city looks so different than my snow in the woods! Somehow yours looks ever so much more interesting, intriguing even.
With all the advances in photography, I still love more than anything else, a good black and white photo. I think I must have inhaled too many chemical fumes while printing them, back in the dark ages.....it has burned that love of the medium straight into my brain. Beautiful.
You know...me too! I've been going through my "archives" and digging out old b&w photos I shot awhile ago...and some new ones. My flickr site is turning b&w! I suppose I should look for some color...someday...
This is a great photograph, Seth! So timeless in its feel. So much snow you are having there. Our turn will probably come again, but its been nice to have a reprieve. Have a great week! roxanne
These black and white photos are so beautiful in mood and image. I have been in a red state of mind because of all the white here and my desire to get away from it. Your winter vision had me revisiting my need to flee... Happy Sunday, Seth !

Classic. I always have time for black and white. Nice shots, Seth.
Seth, you being in the world, seeing it, and then showing it to us, makes me happy. Thanks for showing up!
Great photos in black and white, Seth. I'm envious of your view :-)
Thank you to share it with us.
Love the contrast of b&w.
The snow looks lovely just like icing sugar dusted over the city.
Trade you for a little rain! LOL!
the view is wonderful! the black and white is classic! A reminder of times gone by.
Did you stick your head out of your apartment window for that one?
I agree there is something amazing about the snow and black and white photos of the architecture of NYC. Beautiful!!!

I like your black and white frame of mind very much.
Quintessential New York City. Just beautiful! Although your photos are in black in white, they're still very colorful to me!
black n white brings great drama with it...I always feel like I have to work a little harder to get into the image and it is always worth it
great shots
hope you've been able to enjoy the snow a little...we've hardly gotten any here in N VA

blue shadows,

quiet...
love your bird's eye view

Black and white is so dramatic. Perfect to capture the season. I love the second one.
