Passages

Time stands still for not a soul
Moons will rise come what may
Hold on tight to all that matters
Don't let fear get in the way.

Remember those who came before you
And walked the path that you now face
Let their footsteps guide you forward
Feel their strength and all their grace.

Step by step you'll find the courage
Even when life doesn't rhyme
Take a leap and face the future
Passages to a better time.

I love this. I think the part with the part with the watch is particularly haunting.

Gorgeous work Seth. Love the words in your poetry that accompany this piece. The design, colors, layers and thought behind this creation are all so rich with soul and provide poignant thoughts on time. Love it!

Beautiful work~~love all the little pieces in close ups. Sometimes looking at a piece over all, one misses the exceptional tiny details.

What wonderful little embellishments you find and used here...I could speak to each one.
The poem is wonderful too and means so much to me as I visited my dearest 92 yr old uncle in the hospital yesterday and watched my aunt and he look so lovingly into each others eyes, as she straighten his blanket, held his hand and he kissed hers with no words spoken. Your piece says all this too.

This piece is utterly fantastic, Seth! It has a strong sense of the passage of time... I find myself wondering about their lives, wondering what part each scrap played.

Beautiful piece, Seth! Especially love the colors used here: the yellowed/beige colored paper or cardboard, and rust colored fabric, contrasting with the blue-green oxidized copper color. Delicious!!! Great textures too! Love, also, the sentiment about not allowing fear to keep us from doing what we are here to do. Thanks for sharing!

Just wonderful, Seth, and how timely to be looking at and reading this today.

Yesterday my older sister and I took a short road trip through little towns where our family had first settled years ago, and she told me some her favorite stories about them.

Your piece and your words evoke all kinds of stories and connections.
