For Shannon...

If you are a mixed media artist, a blogger, or an art lover, you must know of Michelle Ward. To mark the one-year anniversary of the death of her sister Shannon and to honor her unending support of the art blogging community, a collaborative art journal has been made by 39 artists. This top secret project, which has been going on behind the scenes since January, was hosted by Julie, JeriAnn, and Lisa. Michelle has just received this gift in time to bring it home with her to share with her family in Shannon's memory and honor. You can read all about the project and Michelle's response on this post on Michelle's blog. You can see pictures of all the pages on Flickr here.

Michelle -- I am so glad that I had the opportunity to be part of this project. Thank you for your positive spirit, good humor, endless support, original and inspired art, and for all the work you put into HCIT! Hope this journal reminds you of all the people out there who appreciate you and I hope this heavy book lightens your load!

Seth - posting at 1.30am! Ahhh you take after my own heart...that was me last night, lol! Well "HI" from the other side of the world and thanks for stopping on by. Just updated my blog with the latest work I've been doing on my/your disintegration collaboration. Please do take a look - I'm having so much fun with it!
As you know, this piece is all about the conception of the soul of my boy and his birth almost a year and a half ago. I think he'll laugh at me in a decade or so when he sees what I can do with a rusted old smint tin!

Seth this seems like a new step for you...more color? Brighter? More mixed collage? Not sure what is different but seems so to me. I like it (as I like your other styles as well)

What a lovely thought and heart felt creation you have all made for this family.

what a beautiful and amazing project, and such a testament to the value that blogging relationships have in our lives, creating bonds of support and innovation that bridge miles, cultures, and all imagined boundaries... thank you for demonstrating this once again!

Hi Seth, your pages for this project struck me as much more colourfull, than your usual work. I found the colours very appropiate to convey support and joy and I really love how they turned out! You are right, great project!

seth, my friend, thank you for contributing to the Love Book. it still makes my heart flutter as i hold it in my hands. more than 3/4s of the book came from creative souls i have never laid eyes on...THAT is evidence of the powerful connections we make online. i thank you for this beautiful post and for adding your voice to the chorus that sings *she mattered*. as i wrote you earlier, your comment to me about the "heavy book lightening the load" was a perfect way to capture what it meant. xo
