Jenn Mason, artist and editor of Cloth Paper Scissors magazine, is part of this year's Brookline Open Studios on May 5th and 6th in Brookline, Massachusetts. Being the generous person and visionary that she is, she is opening the doors to her studio for a good cause...Meals on Wheels. Jenn is hosting Feed Me: the 7 x 7 Show.
The show will include 49 pieces of art work, displayed in a 7 x 7 grid, by artists from Brookline and the entire United States. For a $49 donation, you will get the artwork of your choosing (first come first served) as well as feed a senior for 7 days. You can see many of the pieces, all of which broadly fit the theme of 'food', on Jenn's blog and follow along on the 7 x 7 Facebook page.
I am happy to be a contributing artist to the show and have created the follow piece entitled 'Welcome.'
The pineapple is often a symbol of welcome and to me is the perfect image for a piece of art connected to Meals on Wheels.

What a great cause. I like the pineapple as a welcome symbol.
I can't believe all you do! Wow Seth.
Good work Seth!
This is a great idea as a way to raise funds for a worthy cause. Your "Pineapple" contribution is excellent, Seth. How nice of you to take time for this with your busy schedule.

I first read about this project on Julia Fey Fan Baltzer's blog. I was impressed that Jenn Mason was able to get so many big named artists for this project. And of course, the pineapple is the perfect and welcome addition. Have fun in the Northwest!
I didn't know the pineapple is a welcome-symbol. You not only make gorgeous art, you also teach me 'side-things' (know what I mean?) Hope you're doing well on your 'tour'.
What a wonderful program to support and such a super and creative project sponsored by Jenn. Glad you were able to participate with your busy touring schedule. The pineapple was such a clever idea! You always provide so much food for thought!
Great project and great artwork Seth. I didn't know of the symbolism of the pineapple either. Nice piece of knowledge. I see so much excitement on your blog in regards to your book tour, I hope you are enjoying it to the fullest. I don't think there is another way this should be experienced.
What a wonderful cause! I love the concept~ The pineapple is such a great symbol! Well Done... I'm off to check out the others~
What a great concept, not only Jenn's but using the pineapple Seth - it's great.
My Mom and Dad delivered Meals on Wheels for 30 years!
