Easy Mixed Media

Happy to announce that my recently released workshop DVDs from North Light Media are now available through the shops at Amazon (see links below).

In my first DVD, Easy Mixed Media Techniques for the Art Journal (on Amazon.com and on Amazon Canada), I guide you through a step-by-step tutorial in making a unique art journal using mixed-media texture making, distressing, and layering techniques. While technique driven, the finished project can be used as a personal journal, artist book, or a place to document and revisit your newly learned techniques.

In the second DVD, Easy Mixed Media Surface Techniques (on Amazon. com and on Amazon Canada), I take you through a series of steps to introduce you to my Painted Grid process. You will learn how to create texture, incorporate text and mark-making, and design finish touches to complete your work. This technique-driven workshop also includes directions to complete several projects incorporating the painted grid as both a background and a focal image.

One of the projects that I show you how to create step-by-step and that I actually completed during the filming of my Surface Techniques DVD is Blackbird...

She is now available for purchase in my Etsy Shop.
Sold. Thank You!

How lovely to hear you speak Seth! I know that probably sounds a bit strange, but it's rare to hear a blog writers voice. The DVD looks great, well done.

Thank you for sharing some of your new DVD tutorials here! I've seen some of these techniques, but I love seeing how you use them in your work. It's inspiring me to add some new dimensions to new art pages =-)

Love this weeks questions in your ongoing poll too, though I'd like to know if stuffed animals can count as studio pets??!? ;)

I was already on Amazon when I hesitated. I'd really love to buy your DVD but I live in Europe. I know DVDs are coded differently here than in America. Will I be able to view it? Have you any idea?

I silly question, probably, but I thought I'd better ask first. I thoroughly enjoyed the videos on your blog, thanks for sharing!

Awesome - your DVD should do great! I was also very impressed by your super neat work space. Was that just for the cameras or is that normal for you?

I just watched the first video, after having intending to watch it days ago. Is that HELD I see in the background? Or, at least a sister to it? In any case, your instruction is clear, complete, fascinating, and there's no obvious nervousness about presenting material. It makes me think that you are familiar with communicating information to others. You may even be a good listener. I'm thinking you should teach or counsel people. Think this over.

Meanwhile, I'm saving up for some videos. As you probably know about me, this could take years.

I think I've seen the second video in a shortened version previously. But sometimes I imagine I'm seeing things. for example, I could have sworn the canvases on the shelf behind you were in a different position for the first video.

This is the kind of keen observation that gives me an edge when it comes to my doodling.

I hope you are having a good weekend!

Hey Seth! I finally got around to ordering your DVD's (yes, both of them!!). Amazon only has a couple of each left (until a new order comes in), so I'm glad that had the time to blog hop today and remembered that I intended to buy them.....I probably won't get a chance to work with them right away, but am looking forward to playing later in the year. Now back to my bead journals. LOL!
