The Elemental Journal by Tammy Kushnir is a newly released book from North Light Books. I received a review copy from the publishers and have thoroughly enjoyed looking through its pages.
This book offers a unique take on journaling in several ways. While many books of this type focus on content, The Elemental Journal focuses on structure. Tammy takes the reader through 15 different journal stuctures and presents step-by-step written instructions and step-out images so that anybody can recreate the designs. The instructions are clear and basic enough for the beginner but allow for enough creativity and variation to satisfy the more seasoned book artist. The projects are organized by material, with sections on wood, plastic, paper, fabric, and metal. And for all the lovers of found objects and believers of being green, many of the supplies she uses are repurposed and recycled. Threaded throughout the book are also several galleries of journals created by many well known artists.

Hey Seth, Looks like you are the "go to" person for book reviews and so rightfully deserved. Interesting that The Elemental Journal focuses on structure. So great that step-out images are included along with all different mediums including found objects. Thanks so much for sharing this book with us!
I don't know how you do it Seth . . . the book sounds great, but it's kool being part of your 'sphere'.
I try not to buy techniques books anymore. I would have to build a new book shelf if I did! I would, however, love to buy this book as it sounds like activities I would love to do! Thanks for the information Seth... (from your rural old follower) lol
It looks like a fabulous book! I would love to win. Thank you for having the giveaway!
Very generous of you, Seth. Looks fab! And if you love it, well, I can't go wrong, can I!!
Thank you Seth for giving this wonderful opportunity. The book looks wonderful!
Yay, at last a book that focuses on structure! Count me in please!
Ooh...I'm a bit obsessed with craft books. I know it's not in keeping with Pam K's idea of concentrating on ONE type of craft instead of dispersing your energy into a bunch of crafts, but I can't help it! I love to learn all sorts of new techniques. I just won't try to specialize in all of them :) I promise :) wnerman (at) hotmail (dot) com

Wow!! Put my name in the hat!!! Sounds like an interesting how-to book. Have a great weekend!
This looks like a very unusual book!! It seems that I've been collecting "how to" books on journalling, but haven't actually done any work on them. I like "green", so if I win this one, there's always a possibility that I will actually do some work on them. LOL! If I win, you can find me through my profile.
