For the last week, I have been out west teaching art workshops and meeting up with bloggers, artists, and friends. My first stop has been southern California, where the locals keep saying it is cold.
Given the weather that has been hitting NYC this past week, I guess everything is relative!
My first stop was in San Diego.
I taught a 2-day book-making workshop sponsored by San Diego Book Arts at McCoy House Museum in Old Town.
The setting, the hosts and the students made for a wonderful combination. This creative and talented group worked hard and had fun on both days.
At the end of the workshop, we all shared our books...
told the stories of our pages...
and posed for the obligatory group shot.
Next stop/next post: Los Angeles

What fabulous books your students made Seth. I'm really looking forward to meeting you too. Time's flying by at present, the retreat will be here before we know it.
I have taught a few workshops in San Diego.. wonderful city, beautiful weather, great artists-- looks like you had the same in your workshop.
Industrious participants and amazing views.. Lucky you!
WOW! Those completed books look AMAZING! Wish I could join you as you tour SoCal but I'm getting ready for the Artful Journey Retreat later this month. If you return to SoCal in the future I'll be sure to sign up for one of your amazing workshops. Happy Trails to you as y continue your travels through California, Seth!
Yes, Nathalie. I'd love to join you for dinner. (ha ha)
Looks like you had a successful workshop. You are missing extreme cold here Seth. Happy traveling to California.
I'm going to try to attach some snow to my comment. It looks like you need some out there.

Looks like a good time was had by all. You are a fun teacher Seth, so I know everyone enjoyed themselves and went home happy and more informed.
No, it's not cold in my part of California and we finally are having some much needed rain. No complaints.
That looks like so much fun. I'm glad you got to make it all the way out here, and I know everyone was glad to finally have the opportunity to study with you!
The pictures from our workshop look great. I was so busy creating a book I forgot to take time to snap pictures of the group. Thanks for sharing.
