50 Ways to Leave Your Layer

My newest workshop, 50 Ways to Leave Your Layer, debuts at The Ink Pad in NYC on Saturday, June 18th. Registration is now open.

Okay. Maybe not 50. But a lot. In this workshop, you will be putting your paint playlist on repeat as we go through a series of paint layering techniques that you can apply to all your creative projects. Everybody will be provided with a journal to work in that we will fill up, page after page, with layered backgrounds.

Additive and subtractive painting techniques, properties of acrylic paint, mark making, application strategies, and much more will be included. In the end, you will leave with a new journal that you can keep as a technique reference manual or continue to work in to complete your journal pages in your own personal style.

Looks like a great workshop! I'll have that song in my head for the rest of the day! :-)

Love the title. The more layers the better.

Love the paint layering techniques! I especially love the smooshing technique--that was a technical term you used in the class, wasn't it. Seth? Anyhow, I have used it a lot.

Lovin the pictures you have shared of your work. Even if the class is 49 ways, seems like a good class to me. Do you offer online classes like this one? I can't make it to this class.

The backgrounds are fabulous! I've been studying the piece I won to figure out how you do them. Would be lovely to take a class if budget allowed. ;/ Now on to business, the Nan above is not me. From her comment it sounds like she took a class with you. Back to me, I've been seeing this technical term 'Smooshing' a lot lately. Something that was discovered years ago and is now catching on, huh. ;) Look forward to your new videos being released. Maybe I can snag one of them. Hugs Nan 'G'

Seth, the workshop sounds amazing! As you may know, Absolutely Everything (the shop) in Topsfield, MA, has now closed, sadly. It was certainly my "go to" place for years. NYC is a bit of a drive for me, but one day, I will find you and the workshop! ;-)
