Creativation 2018 Videos

Creativation 2018, the annual trade show for the Association for Creative Industries, ended this past week. It was an exciting show for me, with multiple product releases, workshops, booth demos, and social networking.

For the majority of you who did not attend, this post brings a bit of the show to you. What follows are videos sharing both technique demos and product reviews. Thanks to all the videographers (e.g., people with iPhones) for capturing these.

For those of you who are waiting to receive your orders of Baked Texture, you might want to bookmark this page and the videos are filled with step-by-step instructions on many techniques.

Demo and New Release Videos

At both Creativation and Stitches, two trade shows I recently attended, I spent a good amount of time demoing my newly released products. Most were live for the attendees only but a number were caught on tape.

This is a 20+ minute demo at Spellbinders, also at Creativation, showing techniques ranging from background painting, monoprinting, stamping, stenciling, die cutting, mark making and more.

Here is a 30+ minute demo from Creativation on Periscope taken at the PaperArtsy booth. It focuses on making backgrounds using layers of paints and stamps, creating depth and dimension using opaque and translucent paints, painting and stamping my new Wood Chips as a focal embellishment, mark making and adding borders.

Here is a link to my 35+ minute demo on Periscope filmed at the PaperArtsy booth at Stitches by the PaperArtsy crew. It highlights a technique making rust and patina using my PaperArtsy paint, painting and monoprinting backgrounds, stamping, using my new Wood Chips, and layering.

Here is a short 5+ minute video behind the scenes at my workshop at Creativation. It was a modified version of my 52 Card Pickup class. Look closely and you will see Mary Beth Shaw from Stencilgirl pop up a few times.

A number of videos were also recorded by others that share some of my newest releases.

Thanks a million to Marjie Kemper, who should have her own art and craft channel, for highlighting my Spellbinders booth at Creativation.

A huge thank you to Leandra Franich, who along with her husband Mark own and run PaperArtsy, for creating this video to showcase all of my new products with the company.

PaperArtsy Sneak Peek

In the next few weeks, I will be releasing new products from PaperArtsy, Spellbinders, Impression Obsession and StencilGirl Products. These releases are timed with Creativation, the annual trade show of the Craft & Hobby Association, which this year is taking place in Phoenix, Arizona later this month.

I will be sharing all my releases later this month but will be sharing some sneak peeks sooner. Today, I am happy to share some images related to my upcoming releases with PaperArtsy.

Creativation Interview

Every year in January, the Craft and Hobby Association (CHA) holds their annual trade show. Manufacturers, retailers, designers and other industry professional come together for buying, selling, education and networking.  Since I have been attending, the show has always been held in Anaheim, CA. This coming year though, changes are in store.

In 2017, the show will be held in Phoenix, AZ, has been redesigned and even has a new name: Creativation.

I will be attending the show and releasing & demoing new products there with Spellbinders, Impression Obsession, and PaperArtsy.

I am a Designer Member and will be meeting with many other designers, both formally and informally throughout the show.

I will be teaching a workshop, designed especially for Creativation and titled Mixed Media to the Max

I will be walking the show floor and scoping out all the trends. That way I can bring you my annual trend report so you can stay on top of this too. You can read my post on this from 2016 here.

So why am I talking about this January 2017 event in September 2016? Other than the fact that my preparations have already begun, I wanted to share with you an interview with the folks at CHA which has been published on their blog as part of their Meet the Faculty series. Learn a little bit more about me and my connection to CHA there.
