Demo and New Release Videos

At both Creativation and Stitches, two trade shows I recently attended, I spent a good amount of time demoing my newly released products. Most were live for the attendees only but a number were caught on tape.

This is a 20+ minute demo at Spellbinders, also at Creativation, showing techniques ranging from background painting, monoprinting, stamping, stenciling, die cutting, mark making and more.

Here is a 30+ minute demo from Creativation on Periscope taken at the PaperArtsy booth. It focuses on making backgrounds using layers of paints and stamps, creating depth and dimension using opaque and translucent paints, painting and stamping my new Wood Chips as a focal embellishment, mark making and adding borders.

Here is a link to my 35+ minute demo on Periscope filmed at the PaperArtsy booth at Stitches by the PaperArtsy crew. It highlights a technique making rust and patina using my PaperArtsy paint, painting and monoprinting backgrounds, stamping, using my new Wood Chips, and layering.

Here is a short 5+ minute video behind the scenes at my workshop at Creativation. It was a modified version of my 52 Card Pickup class. Look closely and you will see Mary Beth Shaw from Stencilgirl pop up a few times.

A number of videos were also recorded by others that share some of my newest releases.

Thanks a million to Marjie Kemper, who should have her own art and craft channel, for highlighting my Spellbinders booth at Creativation.

A huge thank you to Leandra Franich, who along with her husband Mark own and run PaperArtsy, for creating this video to showcase all of my new products with the company.

New Spellbinders Dies

Every January, timed to coincide with Creativation - the annual trade show of the Craft & Hobby Association (CHA) - new products are released from art and craft companies. It is both thrilling and humbling for me to be part of this tidal wave of creativity. This year, I have releases with 4 companies and today I want to share my new dies with Spellbinders.

My collection of dies are abstract and not shaped like any obvious object, as is more typical of many dies on the market. It is important to me that you as the artist are able to make all my products your own and use them in ways that reflect your individual style. Two different artists can use the same die cut in this collection...and nobody would ever know.

New Stencils: Alphanumeric Drips

Thrilled to be sharing with you my newest releases from StencilGirl Products. If you have seen any of my earlier stencil designs, you know that I love text. All of my journal pages and the majority of my mixed media work include words.

I thought it was time to design an alphabet stencil for more flexibility. Now in addition to the specific words on my previous stencils, you and I can both make any word at all. What sets this design apart from other alphabet stencils is the font. It is urban, grungy and very drippy. And you know how much I like my drips. I have also included strips of grungy design elements that can be used for borders, detail work or mark making.

Alpha Drips

And what is an alphabet font without numbers? And some random grungy circles thrown in too?

Number Drips

My new stencils, along with my 25 previously released designs, are available now in my website shop, at StencilGirl Products, and at other retailers and online sites.

First Look: new paint colors

Hi all. The excitement continues as Creativation, the trade show for the Craft & Hobby Association, is less than one week away. It is there that the new art and craft products for the season will be revealed.

Today I have a sneak peek of my new set of paints coming from PaperArtsy...

They have been designed to work and mix well with my initial set of paints...

These paints are Fresco Finish Chalk Acrylics, with a fast-drying, matte finish. They are perfect for mixed media and journaling, as any and every pen/marker you choose to use will make marks on it - without destroying your pen. The paints in the line vary in opacity and are labeled as opaque, semi-opaque, or translucent.

I love this piece from Nikki Acton, who has demonstrated that by mixing a variety of paints from the first and new sets...you can make rust and patina. And we cannot live without rust and patina!

You can see and read more right now about my new paints on this post on the PaperArtsy blog. And stay tuned...the paints will be available for purchase later this week from my online shop
