Time for Some Voodoo

Welcome to my blog hop. Everyday from April 2nd through April 12th I will link to a different blog as part of my celebration of the release of my book The Pulse of Mixed Media: Secrets and Passions of 100 Artists Revealed. There will be book reviews, personal thoughts, and giveaways. And every blogger along the way will become part of the book, as they will also post their own responses to their choice of survey questions from the book. You too can be part of The Pulse by responding to my open call for art!

And on each day of the blog hop, I will also be sharing something extra. And today is an extra you will not want to pass by!

Day 1: Head on over to the Voodoo Cafe. Grab the popcorn and get comfortable while you watch this video from Rice Freeman-Zachery. I really value what Rice has to say about my book as she is the author of some of my favorite books of all time, including Living the Creative Life: Ideas and Inspiration from Working Artists, Creative Time and Space: Making Room for Making Art, and her latest, Destination Creativity: The Life-Altering Journey of the Art Retreat.

--------------------------------------

Susan Tuttle, photographer, artist, and author of both Exhibition 36: Mixed Media Demonstrations + Explorations and Digital Expressions: Creating Digital Art with Adobe Photoshop Elements is having a giveaway. Susan is also a contributing artist in my book. If you visit this post on her blog and leave a comment before April 9th, you will be eligible to win a copy of my book in her giveaway. Thanks

More good stuff Seth, more good people. I can and do get lost in time watching these folks video's, perusing their blogs/art/etc. What a fun way to spend a morning. Work? Oh I have the day off. Thank goodness! I'd never make it in!

Rice Freeman-Zachary is quite the 'kick-in-the-pants'! (Her video was a fun way to start an otherwise dreary Monday morning!) And, I loved her answer to 'What is one thing you've never shared with the creative community?' I'll be checking out those books of hers. Thanks for another great intro!

What a nice way to start this blog hop off. I have now become acquainted with Rice, since I have read her articles in my art magazines.

Great Monday start! I have read all Rice's books and follow her blog - she is so vibrant and full of life and I love her quirky sense of humour. Thanks, Seth.

Can you believe that I went to link onto Stephanie Lee's link here (having visited Rice's yesterday) and my work filter says that it is blocked for content.

Heavens to Mergatroid! And to think: I could have spent more time with her at Artfest to find out just what things are her 'content'!

Love my ebook Seth, tho still waiting for the hard cover. Australia Post is hopeless. Love everything Rice does, she's inspiring with her amazing energy and ability.

And best of all, I won your artwork in Jill's giveaway! Now that really is a thrill. Still can't quite believe it. I love the picture, it will be a treasured possession.
