Ha! I have to admire another "one of us" that's picks up garbage in the street. Not to throw it away. Oh, no! But to use it in some art project or other. Artistic ragpickers, that's us. Congrats on these great finds. - jeanne in Oregon
Love looking at your post today of your many found treasures of the street. As another soul who also loves to find gifts in our streets that call out for us to take them home, all is really in the eyes of the beholder and what our needs are at the time we see them. Great hauls of goodies to revel in and enjoy. The tones, color, textures and patterns of detail are mesmerizing as is the rust that gives each find a special uniqueness all their own. Such amazing finds which really lets us see the keen wide open eyes that you have. That too is a wonderful treasure.

Great rusty stuff! Artists find the beauty in the most mundane junk and there is nothing better than a good street-find.

Hi Seth, Happy New Year! Great post with lots of terrific rusty eye candy... I'm with you... if I just look around, open my eyes, and be "open" to the possibilities, I'm usually pleasantly surprised. Wow Seth. NYC must be a veritable gold mine of rusted found objects. And I mean amazing, beautiful RFOs. The ones here take my breath away. You must have quite a stash by now. And what is that piece that's over 4 feet tall? I've never seen anything like it. It's so very interesting.

Amazing street art and your finds are beautiful. The tin can lid-gorgeous. You've found so many different colors too...
I can't tell you the number of times I have seen things like that on the ground and just walked past them. The rust is so vibrant but I never made the conection between it and using it in my own art. I do pick up broken pieces of crockery and old coins though. In the UK there was a change of currency in the 1970s so you never know when you can find something a little different in the coin stakes.
I know that rust is the topic of the day, but that opening graphic just made me gasp. If I could high-five you, I would!...it's amazing. I can see it in my house. I hope it's really BIG.

Yup - KINDRED RUSTY JUNK COLLECTOR FRIENDS! You know, I still have a bowl of old rust sitting in the corner of my studio - LOL - I can't bare to part with. AND PAPER - have I GOT PAPER! Somewhere there are dead tree souls having night terrors about me I swear - Great finds Seth!

There's a guy here in Akron who has literally been in one part of a house scavanging while in the other end they were tearing it down!
