As always, your article is thought-provoking.

Well, one thing about the questions you've been asking about maintaining a blog/reading a blog is that the emphases change for me quite often. Sometimes daily! Frankly, I get so many things from a given site on a given day that it's hard to say what makes me keep returning to one or another.

I'm glad I could hone this down...

As I participated and voted -- it was interesting to see where my responses fit into the larger blogger community-- and I see that I fit in very well. thanks for the feedback.

Part 2 of this series was well worth reading. I enjoyed seeing all the responses to some of the survey questions and how they compared to my response. Some of the questions you asked in the beginning didn't include enough responses, in my opinion. Now I am either looking at the surveys differently or finding the responses that actually match my feelings. Thanks for doing this.

I was just a bit surprised that the voters want mostly art with a bit of the personal. I was thinking that voters would veer to the more personal. Are we looking just for support of our artwork? Do we want readers to say, "hey, that's fantastic," or do we want a critique every now and then?

All so very fascinating Seth...I sometimes wonder what is it in a blog that makes its viewers either 'lurkers' ( I say it very lovingly, I am a lurker too sometimes) or commentators..

Since I always vote in your surveys, I always find the answers most fascinating. I thought that art would be the focus and glad to know that it is. Your surveys are always so insightful ... thanks, Seth.

You certainly gave us some great information. Having been a blogger for a few years, I believe mine is becoming more and more what I want to achieve. I attribute that partially to learning more of the actual technology involved. I see something and I instantly want to know how that person accomplished it. Did they have to use HTML? etc.....

Another fantastic article that really hit home. I used to share personal stuff all the time, maybe way too much, and had a few people advise me not to. I trust everything you say, so I especially loved reading this from you and having the interesting survey results to illustrate it all. Well done and thank you!
