Welcome to the 5th edition of The Pulse -- The State of the Art -- a survey in words and pictures of the online artist community. The Pulse is a collaborative project that aims to introduce you to new artists, help you get to know familiar faces even more, and allow you access into the creative hearts and minds of a very talented crew of individuals. More than 130 artists have answered a series of questions which make up The Pulse. Their responses will be presented in a series of online posts which will run every Sunday.

Participants were asked to photograph a still life that you create using an array of objects.

Ha! I had no memory of sending you that picture of my pin cushion and ruler! Too funny. I enjoyed seeing other's interpertations of still life's...Seth you do bring out the best in us! Today mine would look much different. It would contain pens and paints and brushes and paper pads!

Love these! The variations again are so imaginative!
Do you not love these? And how varied? Now I just want to take photos of still lifes! Look at Roxanne's! How cool! orderly, like Stephanie's. Then there are those like Erin's, where mystery abounds. nice!!
