Happy to share that my work was recently featured in Artists' Cafe Volume 9. This yearly publication from Stampington & Company culls articles from previous issues of Somerset Studio, Sew Somerset, Art Journaling, Somerset Apprentice, and Somerset Workshop. This is one of my favorite magazines as it it really is like a "greatest hits" issue. And because the articles comes from 5 different magazines, there is a wonderful variety in the projects that are shared. For example, this issue highlights encaustic work from Serena Barton, art journal pages from Finnabair, mixed media work from Lynne Perrella, stamp carving from Pam Carriker, journaling from Dina Wakley, and so many more.
My project featured in the magazine was from a collaboration I completed with Sarah Whitmire between 2008 and 2011. We each created our own handmade and handbound books, which we traded back and forth via mail for the three years of the project. Our theme was nature and sometimes we created our own pages and other times we both worked on the same page.
Here is a glimpse into my book...

Another beautiful collaboration Seth! I was inspired by the collaboration that you and Jill had and started some sort of 'back and forth' book with another artist last year... it is very inspiring and so much fun to find new pages in my mailbox that I 'respond' to... we work on it for a year now and we're not planning to stop sometime soon... I love it! I would also love to see your work and read the article in this Sommerset magazine so please count me in your draw. Have a great week, hugs from Holland (P.S. Thanx for your email about the creative books... it/you helped a lot!)
Thanks to you and Stampington for this generous giveaway! You are so talented and your work is amazing, I can't wait to see this issue. Thank you for the chance to win a copy. Fingers crossed. Renee.zarate2015@gmail.com
I can see this book being carried around the Shire by a young hobbit asking if someone will take him and this book to Rivendell for the fairies to decode and interpret the meaning of the elements of each page so he can learn of the power of these mysterious symbols and marks. Enchanted, nothing short of enchanted.
Big congratulations! Your work is amazing and inspiring. Thanks for putting it out into the world for me to enjoy!! Be especially blessed....
Love the collaborative book! So rich in texture and detail.
Pick me! Pick me!
Wow... that is quite amazing. All the work that went into it. Just beautiful.

Hi Seth, I remember being in awe with this book when you first showed it. Collaborating with another artist would be both exciting and a scary I suppose. I am also a fan of all of the Stampington magazines but I have yet to get my hands on this one. Thanks for a chance to win a copy! Cheers-Darlene

Your book looks like a collection of your greatest works all by itself. Wow! Congrats on being in the magazine!
Whoa! Amazing eye candy! I'd love to win!
I would love to hold this book in my hands, and really experience it.
I love the subtle colors you've chosen. They remained me of many walks taken in the early spring or late fall. The shapes you have usse are very evocative of a specific time or place in nature. The textures you use remind me of benchmark or the humus of leaves and plants on the forest floor.
Your pages are beautiful, and I would love to read your article in Artists Cafe.
