House Party

Remember to come by Sunday for my open house to share and hear secrets. Tomorrow's edition of Secret Sunday will be written by YOU! Stop by and leave a comment sharing your most coveted art secret and stick around to read all the others. You can enter through any of the doors or windows in this post, photographed on my travels through Mexico, Spain, Greece, and the United States.

I have a collection of openings as I traveled in foreign but sacred places. I have been working on my Sunday contribution and I picked up an old paperback ... The Little Prince and have found messages I remembered from back in 1970 yet had forgotten. I think I have told you but you have really done an excellent job on the Pulse and incredible collaborations. Imagine and Live in Peace, Mary Helen

I have almost finished my January Blue Moon Wolf pup so drop by later to check the project when she is finished...I love Wolves and was once lucky enough to witness them in the Wind River Mountains.

I think I'll enter through the one with peeling paint! Can't wait to visit. I kept thinking "what happened to Saturday," then I realized it was barely after midnight when I saw this post pop up. Whew. I still have 24 hours to come up with something. After all, if Jack Bauer can save the world in that amount of time, I can come up with a secret.

This is my change to participate for once... I'll be entering through your door or window (I have to make a choice... eeeekkk, as a Libra, that's hard!) and I will spend today thinking about a secret to share... thanks Seth, for giving meaning to art, thoughts, weekends!!!

I love these!!! I am first reminded of some of the old buildings in New Orleans in the French Quarter; the peeling paint, the shuttered windows or doors, the tropical colors.
What amazing beauty in something that is slowly decaying.....
Exceptional!

I love your doors and windows photos, and the fact that you can enter through them! Very cool, as always, and I envy the traveling you've done. I wonder if you've used any of these photos in your collage work?

Windows, doors, shutters. Why are they so fascinating anyway? I have always loved them, especially the ones well worn.

These doors/windows are amazing! I love the weathered patinas.

And this idea is just too much fun! I don't think I have many secrets to share...yet. But I will definitely be here to learn!

What fabulous portals, Seth! I love photography that is at once representational and abstract studies in color and texture.

See you back here tomorrow for another super Secret Sunday. -- JeriAnn

You've gone and pushed me over the edge. The shades of blue on those doors are just incredible.

Remember that TV game show, a very early one where you had to choose between 3 doors to get your prize? I would have to choose your door #6, the yellow one with all the peeling paint. That's where I would locate my art secret which is all the lovely things I have found by keeping my eye to the ground: rusty nails, glass baubles, tiny dolls from a discarded doll house, broken jewelry, a rusted chain. That's my secret that I share with all. Keep your eyes open and a collecting bag in your pocket.

love the doors and windows-- I left a comment on Robyn's post on houses that when I door opens, we enter...
well apparently we enter even when the door is closed :-)
we enter the textures, the weathering, the age, the history..

Thanks so much for dropping by, Seth, and for your kind comment! It made me get out and visit -- something I haven't done for way too long. Once again wowed by your blog and hey LUV the doors and windows. Something so inviting and mystical about them, don't you think? Like many here I always take a lot of photos of openings when I travel -- can't wait to revisit Mexico in a few weeks!
