Nina Bagley has been a professional jewelry designer since 1987, a mixed media artist for as long as she can remember (thinking here of a little clay mushroom "ensemble" that was created in perhaps the third grade, for starters), and has been teaching mixed media/jewelry workshops worldwide since 2000.
Her artwork is featured in many books and magazines, and has been carries in multiple boutiques and museum shops across the world.

Reading about the adventures of Nina Bagley on Firefly Road has been a memorable experience for me. Nina shares her art and her life so fully that I feel like we have already met. Yet another artist that I first read about in True Colors
, I have followed Nina's blog for as long as I can remember. My love and passion for handmade books was in part fueled by the astonishing books that Nina has created and that have graced the pages of many publications. I am hoping one day to have the chance to see them and turn their pages in person.

Nina and I have connected via emails off and on for many years. We have both experienced the loss of beloved family members and Nina offered much comfort to me in this regard. For that I am eternally grateful. We often speak about the possibility of meeting but that opportunity has yet to arise. Perhaps one day I will make my own adventure and travel to the magical place known as Firefly Road and we can spend the days under the twinkling branch lights in her studio creating handmade books together.

Nina is a true artist in every way. A source of inspiration to so many including me.
I too would love to visit Nina and Walter on Firefly Road.
Nina's work never fails to catch me a bit off guard. I find myself staring, lost in contemplation, amazed by the beauty of it, examining every detail, wondering how exactly she brought it forth. I really think, although I may know the materials and media, many of her works are the most mysterious of any. And I do love a mystery.

Hi Seth. just came over from Nina's blog; I thought I had left a comment here but I don't see it so forgive me for double-dipping, not intended. I first came across Nina's work in True Colors and I have tried to follow her ever since. Her work is so open, so beautiful it sometimes makes my heart stop - she is an absolute gem herself and answers every comment (I am almost afraid to comment because I don't want to give her extra work)as if you were her dearest friend. I have ordered the book already, can't wait - altho' it does sometimes take a while to get to Australia!
Nina and I met for about two hours several years ago now. What a magical two hours. We have remained in contact ever since.
Her work takes my breath away, there is so much of her heart in every piece.

I have loved Nina Bagley's jewelry for many, many years.
Nin'a piece in the book was one I found myself instantly drawn to.
I don't know how Nina does it. She is one of the few artists who responds back. Her website is like a home away from home. Even though she shares some poignant moments, you leave her writings with a sense of peace, awe and compassion. She pays it forward. I have true respect for her.

Nina is a fantastic artist and person. She wears her heart on her sleeve and posts it for all to share. Her artwork always makes me smile and fuels an artistic spark in me.

Nina is certainly a true icon in every sense of the word. I have yet to take a workshop, I have always wanted to but life has always gotten in the way.I have been a fan forever. She's truly an original. I remember when we were in the process of creating the True Colors books...every artist was a unique phenom, but Nina's work always made our jaws HIT THE FLOOR. The World hadn't seen a giant dose of this brilliance til then. Shocking. Stunning. Fresh and original.

Here is a true story. I am filled with mortification in telling it but here it is. Last fall I purchased TRUE COLORS in a charity shop for $1.49 and it sat on my bookshelf even until this second in which we speak, u-n-o-p-e-n-e-d. I'm holding my palms out willingly for the ruler now. Seth has spoken time and again about this treasure and I still haven't opened it. I had planned to, no fear, but I tell you Nina [I mean Seth's post about her] will be making me open it. Today! *smiles* Norma
