Weekend at Parallax

This past weekend I was an exhibiting artist at the inaugural Parallax Art Fair in NYC. The event was held at 82 Mercer Street in SoHo. Approximately 180 emerging and established artists exhibited and there was a tremendous variety of art on display.

Mercer Street

The opening on Friday night was mobbed. There were literally hundreds of people there and the atmosphere was charged.

I was very happy with the location of my booth, which was shared with two wonderful artists: Amanda Mudrovich and Eileen Williams.

I chose to display two series: Interior Angles (acrylic) and Passages (Mixed Media).

Passages

Interior Angles

Happy to be able to say that I sold a number of pieces.

Since you all couldn't be there to see the work in person, I decided to bring the work to you.

From my YouTube channel AlteredPage...take a walk with me through Parallax:

I can only imagine the excitement, Seth. Congratulations on selling some pieces, but no surprise that you did. This is what I live for. Maybe someday I will have my work in a show. You inspire me to work harder.

Glad you took some video!

Congratulations on your success at Parallax and with your latest book deal.

I'm still going through your first "pulse of mixed media" book. It seems every millimeter on every page has something new to offer with each reading.

Thank you for the video tour, Seth.
This is great! This is one thing I like about New York City...there is always something going on in the realm of art and culture that most small towns don't have. Wow! There were many, many artists at this showing. Glad you got on the band wagon and were able to enjoy the kindred spirit event and partake in it and sell some of your work. I miss living in So. California as I used to go to events in Los Angeles. I am now 200 hundred miles away, but my son is going to the top architecture collage in the world (SCI-Arc)so he is immersing himself in the culture of Los Angeles.

I loved your mixed media pieces, but for some reason, I can't get onto You Tube. It's asking me for a subscription and I've never had that happen before.

I really enjoyed 'walking with you' through the exhibition boots Seth! Thanks so much for the video - it gives a good idea of what art hangs there and how the atmosphere was. Indeed the next best thing to actually be there in real life. btw - didn't you bump onto people while walking with your camera ;)

I was right there with you Mister!!! Thank you for this video. The background sound of the talk was electrifying. It is people digging people digging art digging people. Gorgeous. And if I were there I'd so have a glass of wine or something yummy, and I'd have to make the rounds again, and again, and again. There was some fabby things I saw in the clip which I would have explored deeply in person. Congrats. on your sales Seth! *smiles* Norma

Thank you for the videos. The show looked amazing and I especially like your "Passages" work. Hey, the 2nd video covering highlights of the "Pulse" book was very enetertaining. A joy to hear what the other artists were saying. I like your overview about art to be about connection and that a thread connects all artists. You are right on about artists creating to express some significant loss in their lives....this was a very rewarding video. Enjoyed!!
