Disintegration Manifestation
Over 50 artists are now participating in the Disintegration Collaboration. Bundles of every imaginable material, shape, and color are hung, tied, buried, and submerged all around the world. Nature is working her magic with snow, rain, hail, sun, wind, earth, fire, and water all interacting with and disintegrating bundles of bundles. On May 1, each artist will reveal the results on their own blog. Between now and then, I will be tracking and spotlighting the process on this blog.
There is still time to participate. Email me with your link if you decide to join. There were 15 new participants over this past weekend. Links to their posts are presented below and some artists who put their own twist on the project are highlighted. Links to all 50+ participants can be found on the sidebar of this blog as well.
Roxanne from River Garden Studio not only made her own unique bundle, that she refers to as a "woven gift for nature," but she introduced the concept to her class in her role as a teacher. All the students created their own bundles, each of which included a written wish or dream that hangs from their creation. Thank you Roxanne for sharing this with your students!
Roxanne's bundle of nature, in nature, and for nature.
A selection of bundles made by Roxanne's creative students.
Susan from Bricolage
Melissa from Each Dazzling Moment
Gail from Expression Studio
Dawn from Windows to Me
Elizabeth from The Last Door Down the Hall
Darlene from Art-ticulation
Melissa from Primfixins
Cynjon from Varietist Muse made an event of it and invited a crew over to make bundles together. All will end up disintegrating together until May 1.
Andrea from The Artful Eye
Diane from Rosa & Josie's
Lumi from Lumilyon
Terry from Artwhispers
Nikki from Sun Soul Art Thoughts
Jacqueline from My Ever-Changing Now
Em joined the project but does not have a blog. I offered to post her before and after shots. She says "They evolved from the need to disintegrate a whole pile of troubles that I have at the moment."
"So the ones in the twisted hazel tree, I put onto paper in different forms, some with secret code, and wrapped them in tea bag paper and the home spun thread that a friend made for me with the feeling that the elements will deal with my troubles by disintegrating them & maybe making something beautiful from them."
"The 'saved from the bin mobile' was a mixed media painting that I decided was ruined and in my moody was going to put in the rubbish bin, then suddenly decided the use in a more creative way - we shall see! All very therapeutic I think."
Please email me if you are participating and you do not see your name on the sidebar and stay tuned for more spotlights!

thanks for posting these- i have been visiting the blogs, but it's fun to see several together in one place. fun project to follow.
What can one say? The response has been overwhelming! I just saw Roxanne's post and thought that by the time May 1 comes around, there will be several hundred
"Disintegration Bundles" all across the globe. As they say - you've got quite a hit on your hands! It's been so amazing to see all of the most creative and eclectic packages- all wrapped so cleverly and put out in all sorts of imaginative places. Jill
Waiting for spring has become even more interesting! What a cool combination of ideas to watch.
So many awesome bundles to keep track of. I'm so glad to be part of all the fun.
Thanks for posting these Seth. It's especially interesting to hear about the school project. I hope you don't mind (do please let me know if it's not!) I've used your image as link button on my blog. This is such a wonderful global collaboration, I want to draw it to the attention of as many people as possible.
Unbelievable how many people are participating!!! I love the ones the classroom is doing! I will have to post a progress pic of my two - the one titled "The Disintegration of Politics" now has birds feeding on it to help it along- newsprint does not decay quite as quickly as one might think!! LOL
Thank you Seth! I think my post loaded.....I'm a newbie in this blog world....ughhh with error codes. Love this project and am so excited to see what appears come May.
Told you that you were an inspiration!
This is a great way to wait for spring... I agree with Christine! I might have to make another... I love all the postings. Thank you, Seth! Roxanne
I love how this is becoming a "heart" project. You are a gifted motivator Seth!
wow! that's an impressive gathering of Disintegration art happening. :) this has been great fun watching the clever bundles coming together ... can't wait to see what they all morph into.
Seth - caught my attention! Email off to you just now, count me in.
These are all too wonderful. Next winter: a group project! That's a great idea and such original concepts. You're right, Seth. The whole blog community is just a kick in the pants fun experience. Jeanne
These are fantastic! Getting to read how you've inspired so many people, and how they've interpreted the disintegrative process is really interesting. I love how Em's using it all therapeutically. I hope as the papers disintegrate, so do the troubles and 'moody' feelings - I may have to try that!
great work everyone,
Karin
What a wonderful idea. You make me so want to participate, but my agenda is just crammed right now, trying to sell our house, etc.
I'll be watching from the sidelines though!
beautiful idea for an interesting project..love the photo of roxanne's work and a bird..
Thank you for gathering in one place here....so interesting to see and watch...
I just hung a bundle made from junk mail. It is going to be really interesting to see everyone's bundles on May 1.
Oh me too please! I need to create a pile....will let you know when it's blogged!
I've piled, hung and posted:) Thanks for leaving the invite open to everyone!

Wonderful idea. I just "installed" my art and am cajoling others to join in. I now feel an addiction coming. Oh my.
This project Disintegration Manifestation has inspired me -- I have made a bundle and will hang it outside tomorrow morning. My bundle has turned into a request to the universe and I've put in things that relate to leaving.

Great opportunity to bring like-minded ones together as we gather and take a moment to be with the outdoors from a different perspective....even in the snow! I was "cajoled" by a dear friend to do this, which then prompted me to figure out how to create a blog, all in the last 5 days. so renewed energy buzzes and will keep us all peeking outdoors for spring flowers and glimpses of our secret bundles in alliance with the elements.
Seth, I finally got my package together and hung it outdoors! It's a little bundle of fabrics and paper I use in my artworks.
You can see it on my blog today (Sunday, March 1 @ http://lynn-nonameblog.blogspot.com) My computer would not let me email you. ??? I hope we get enough rain from now to May to make this happen. We are in drought mode in California.
What a brill notion. Wish I'd seen this earlier. Where I live we've probably seen the last of any dramatic wet weather to work magic on my parcel. Will have to see what baking sun will do to it.
Is it too late to participate? What a wonderful project. I wish I knew about it.
Please let me know, thanks.
