In Disguise

Alicia from Altered Bits is at it again. She just published her third eZine, this time with the theme of Black & White. Click here to be taken both to the current issue and to the links to her previous issues as well. Thank you Alicia for including my own artwork in your incredible, online publication. Click image to enlarge.

My piece in the zine, entitled "In Disguise", is one of my contributions to the ongoing collaborative project I am involved in with Viv and Steph. I recently posted about this collaboration, which we call Self Contained, in this post. And it seemed from the comments that many of you were curious about the details of this project. We are keeping the specifics under wraps for now.

But I can tell you that each of us created very distinct structures and that we are all working on every inch of the projects, including on top of anybody else's work. A true collaborative effort. So while "In Disguise" is 100% my own work, when I see it next...it may be completely different. This has certainly been an exciting, challenging, and invigorating project! Stay tuned for more!

Thank you so much for a wonderful post, Seth! It means so much to me to have your artwork in my ever-growing "little" zine. I am still surprised how wonderful everyone's artwork looks! I feared that the black and white theme might end up bland or unexciting but I was so wrong!

Thanks again, Seth!!

It may look black & white to you, but it sure has a lot of color to me. I wonder how 'unfinished' unfinished will be by the time it's finished!

Wow Seth...unfinished you say? It was such a treat to see your stunning submission to the zine. I think this time, Alicia needs the big THANK YOU. Between the two of you, you make this place in blogland rock!

Just finished browsing the zine, how wonderful is this piece? Loved your in disguise piece Seth, and love the idea that it might not look like this again! How intriguing! Great concept! Both you and Alicia have completely outdone yourselves again! You must do a repost if the piece is altered, please!

your piece is awesome! Yes, I too am curious about your Self Contained project!
I thought it would be difficult to limit to black and white but I had a hard time stopping - I'm happy to be included in this issue! I think I'll promote it just the way you did...

That is my favorite kind of collaborative play!! working with and over each other's work - layer by layer... Unfinished, in disguise, intrigues me very much indeed!

What a great inclusion in Alicia's black and white edition - a moment in time from your Self-Contained collaboration with Viv and Steph. Your layers create a beautiful texture, with subtle gradations between black and white - and I love the hidden words that peek through. "In Disguise", finished or "unfinished", is a beautiful reflective vision. Honored to be included in this issue with you and all of the amazing other artists and their works!

Black and white and TEXTURE. You get more texture in your art pieces than anyone I know. I am striving for more texture (and layers) in my art as a result of your influence.

This is an extremely nice addition to the zine and I can't wait to see how it changes over time.

i think you are manifesting "relationship" where each gets to add his or her stamp of an idea of the one connection... only its art based. Very interesting, you do it on so many levels.
With your collabs but also with a growing blogger base that does your calls for action so often.

Its wonderful
