Two from Trudi

Welcome to my blog hop. Everyday from April 2nd through April 12th I will link to a different blog as part of my celebration of the release of my book The Pulse of Mixed Media: Secrets and Passions of 100 Artists Revealed. There will be book reviews, personal thoughts, and giveaways. And every blogger along the way will become part of the book, as they will also post their own responses to their choice of survey questions from the book. You too can be part of The Pulse by responding to my open call for art!

And on each day of the blog hop, I will also be sharing something extra. And today is an extra you will not want to pass by!

Trudi Sissons from Two Dresses Studio is a master at digital art. She creates imaginary worlds that you just want to step into and inhabit. I have "known" Trudi since the time I started my blog. She was a participant in the very first online version of The Pulse. She was the founder and the creator of The Recollection Parlor, a group of artists that literally did create their own worlds - as can be seen on The Recollection Parlor blog. She is also very aware of the power we hold as artists to effect change in the world and to that end, hosted a collection of butterflies to send on to the Holocaust Museum in Houston for this project.

Today she is taking on The Pulse of Mixed Media and is offering one reader a copy of the book, as part of a double giveaway that she is sponsoring. Click here for all the details.

Did you know that North Light Books, my publisher, has it's own online shop? Not only can you buy books, but you can buy art supplies there as well. And North Light has provided my readers with a coupon code to save 10% off all purchases. Just click here and use the code ALTEREDPAGE10 for savings off everything on their site. Right now, even without the code, North Light has the best online price I have found for my book. And with the code, you will save even more.

Trudi and her blog, Two Dresses Studio, are new to me. Blog hopping has introduced me to a number of great new artists, and interesting blogs and websites to visit. I really enjoyed the way in which she answered all three of the questions she chose from 'The Pulse of Mixed Media'. I found her take on the question about intuition verses a more cognitive approach to the creative process particularly interesting: the unexpected "surprises", while creating, that can happen--totally out of the blue--when the subconscious mind makes connections that the conscious mind would never have seen! One of the things that keeps me coming back to the studio!

Yep, Trudi's digital collages are amazing. I fell in love with the various choices she gave us in the moo cards, too.

Seth - you've made me feel so grateful and humble and I don't think this is the first time! A big hug and thank you for including me in your blog hop and introducing me to other 'fine' artists!
I only wish I could have had "The Pulse" in my hands to have provided you with a critique. But now I have a great reason to write a review about it when it arrives!
Thanks for challenging me with some great questions too! Now I know for sure you aren't just another pretty face :0)

I am grateful for you introducing this artist. The link to the Butterfly project inspired and motivated me to share with my small audience. I have only been following your blog since the start of 31 in March - but have been introduced to many new artists. You can read the post at the following link

Again - thank you!
