Hope: For 9/11

This piece was inspired by 9/11. I have lived in NYC for over 30 years and September 11, 2001 is the only day that still unfolds in my mind second by second. It is an experience that I will always remember. Twelve years later, images of that day still bring me back to the confusion, anger, and despair that I felt as my country - and my city - was attacked. The healing began immediately though and this piece represents the hope that has existed in all of us following that day.

Beautiful piece with such meaning.

My thoughts and prayers are with you and everyone hurt by the events on that day.

May you find peace, a piece at a time each day.

I agree, a lovely and thought provoking piece. I remember that day clearly! I was out of work and a friend called to tell me to turn on the news. I was glued to the set for the day, as the horror unfolded. Here I am out of work again and once again sharing your pain. Peace!25 nestre

Ignore the last bit after the Peace. Somehow the word verification got in there. Let's call it operator error!

I sculpted a tiny porcelain angel that day. I remember how I was compelled to channel my overwhelming feelings of sadness and shock by crafting something, anything. Every time I look at it I am reminded how I felt that day and there is nothing I've ever made in my whole life that seems so significant.

There are no words to describe the feelings of most on that day and the weeks that followed. Without HOPE there was no way our nation could have survived. Love this piece Seth!
