Evidence of Autumn

Roxanne from River Garden Studio and I have been collaborating on a project since earlier this year entitled Evidence of Autumn. We each bound our own books and have been sending them back and forth to each other, creating pages in both books. You've seen glimpses of these pages for quite a few months. I feel lucky to have been able to work with Roxanne and am so happy with the results of our collaboration, filled with fall colors, layers, textures, metal, twine, wire, fabric, rust, leaves, words, phrases, and more. Click on the images to enlarge and click here to see Roxanne's book and her beautiful post about the project.

I can't help but love this book. It is so evocative of autumn. Wonderful warm colours mingled with cooler tones - just like the golden leaves and the chill air. A beautiful piece.

What a great chronicle of the achievement; it's great to see so many of the pages. And thanks for directing us to Roxanne's site.

Totally awesome, Seth and Roxanne. Indeed, very beautiful. I could sit and study the enlarged pictures, there's so much to see and absorb. I love the subtle muted colors, the leaves, the text, the keys, oh gee, I love it all. And the texture is especially exciting to me, since I love texture so much. Your individual styles are so complimentary and cohesive together.

I would love to see your books up close, to be able to hold them and touch them. Incredible art from both of you. Also, very inspirational. You've both given me some thoughts and ideas to work with. Thanks so much for sharing.

Seth - what a beautiful project - each page is more interesting than the one before - I love how you and Roxanne each have your own style but they blend so well together - Have a question - did y'all do anything special to the dried leaves etc to preserve them? and if so what did you do? thanks for sharing this with us - hugs - Reva (Los Angeles)

In music people often comment on the beautiful harmonies created by members of the same family... there's nothing quite like siblings singing in harmony. These pages sing like siblings in harmony, Seth... if you and Roxanne aren't related by blood, you must be soul kin. :)
