Today we celebrate the studio table: uncensored, unedited, and most likely unkempt.
When the studio table is full...
...the studio floor will have to do!
So many times when we are presented with images of artist studios, they are pristine -- almost as if nothing goes on in the space. This is often true in books, magazines, blogs, and Facebook. The reality is, of course, that during the process of creating, the mess multiplies faster than the matheletes at the International Mathematical Olympiad (and there really is such a thing)!
Let's go behind the curtain, throw any feelings of shame out the window, and show the world the underside of art and craft. I'll show you mine if you show me yours!

i put my pics up - i don't think ive had enough time to properly mess up my studio since returning! (although, admittedly i have a compulsion to keep the floor tidy or i go bonkers!)

Well, things on my collage table will go on the floor because I have to move the containers somewhere B-). My Maggie is always delighted about that because that's stuff she can explore. Love it!

I love seeing other peoples work table and what they do for organizing or for messiness. haha!! Thanks for sharing Seth. I often work on the floor too.
I adore seeing other's studio space especially honestly. Makes me feel "normal". There is no room in my home where I can relax without tidying up first.....except my studio.i feel safe, relaxed, comfortable being surrounded by my art supplies, piles of paper, inspiring books, half finished projects.thanks for the look into others and to you artists willing to share the truth.

Wow, I feel like I am in such good company with my mess!
I am having a grand time looking at the studios and also finding new ideas for my studio, in addition to finding new artists to admire. So much fun. This is a favorite of mine.

I did it! I looked at all 87 studios tables/rooms - I have to say I am seriously jealous of some of them, to the point of green with envy. I loved seeing so many of the furry assistants popping into the pictures :) Nice to know I am not the only messy artist out there but I truly believe that the real artist comes out in the mess. Thanks everyone for sharing and thank you Seth for coming up with the great idea of sharing them.

Seth, your idea of everyone's work space is genius! For the next challenge, can everyone share what they do with all the art work they create? I know some is given away, some displayed but with all the products we've all accumulated I know that there are masterpieces floating around somewhere.
Some of us can only use the floor for short instances lest our furry companions take over. Granted, they have been known to sleep on top of my projects (just more texture...).

Seth, have to admit, stuff sits on my floor... a LOT,I do manage to sweep under my desk quite often as I work with little wire bits and mostly barefoot. Those little suckers will find your bare feet every time if you don't tame them. Love your space, your art and thank you so much for doing this hop and sharing your work.
I absolutely love this idea. Seeing fellow artists' and crafters' less than perfect spaces makes me feel part of a tribe lol but true. Thank you! Will post my video share today.

I am enjoying this tour of working studios! I agree how seeing the art tables and studio when the artist is working gives a more personal view than when everything is pristine.
And I love how you can work on your floor. I would too if ours was not a rental and if it didn't have carpet:)
